Yanqing Zhang (DMA (cand))
Yanqing, originally from China, began studying clarinet in the third grade. Currently pursuing a Doctoral Musical of Arts Degree at the University of British Columbia studying with Jose France-Ballester. Yanqing has also attended past colleges, including Indiana University, and Jacob School of Music, where she studied under the tutelage of James Campbell, and the Xi’an Conservatory of Music, under the guidance of Zheng Chi.
During her studies, Yanqing has been selected twice for the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and has participated in the Orford Music Festival. This year, she has been accepted into the NACO mentorship program. In addition to orchestral playing, she is also passionate about solo and chamber music performances.
