Gabe Reed (DMA, MMus)

Gabe Reed is a classical pianist and teacher from Oregon, where he began piano at age six with
Jan Saito. He studied with Hans Boepple at Santa Clara University, working as a teaching
assistant in music theory classes and graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in
Music and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Gabe went on to earn his Master of Music in
Piano Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, studying with Sharon Mann.
He is now completing his Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance under Mark Anderson at
the University of British Columbia, where he is a TA in Class Piano.


Gabe has performed at the Amalfi Coast Music & Arts Festival in Italy and has been featured as
a concerto soloist three times with the Sunriver Music Festival in Oregon. He has performed in
masterclasses with Van Cliburn medalists Olga Kern, Kenneth Broberg, Sean Chen, and Dmytro
Choni. In piano competitions, Gabe’s distinctions include silver in the Vancouver Symphony
Orchestra Young Artist Competition, winner of the Music Teachers’ Association of California
Concerto Competition, first prize in the Eugene Symphony Guild Young Artist Competition, and
multiple medals in the Cascades Classical Music Foundation Young Artist Competition.


Gabe has taught privately and in music schools for four years, including at Little Mission Studio
and Veksler Academy in California. His students range from beginners to advanced pianists, and his teaching style is playful yet efficient. He emphasizes attention to detail, curiosity, and intelligent practice, aiming to deepen each student’s understanding and love of music.
