Pianist, Yiping Wang has toured the globe with performances in China, UK, USA, and Canada. Highlights include recitals at Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall at the University of York in the UK and Carnegie Hall in New York.
Ms Wang has appeared as a piano soloist with the Wuhan Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, and the Ithaca Symphony Orchestra. She has been praised for her “dramatic gesture, certainly a gifted musician with high level of technical assurance and musical expression” by Dr. Stewart Lynell Gordon at the University of Southern California. Her solo and collaborative repertoire spans from the Baroque to the 21st century. In 2020, She published her debut album of works of Bach, Chopin, Bartok, Liszt, Beethoven, and Prokofiev.
Ms Wang began playing the piano in China at the age of five. After finishing her bachelor’s degree in Wuhan Conservatory of Music, she was offered a generous scholarship from the University of York School of Music. During that time, she accomplished her master’s degree there, and held 3 recitals in Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall in York, UK. The repertoire included Mozart, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Chopin, Bach, Debussy, and Gershwin, which was lauded for being “expressive, achieving both musical lines and virtuosity.” Yiping experienced masterclasses with many wonderful Steinway and Yamaha artists such as Christopher Elton, Frederic Chiu, Daniel Shapiro, Amanda Chan, Stewart L. Gordon, and Marc Silverman. In 2016, she continued her studies in Ithaca College School of Music with Dr. Vadim Serebryany and appeared in Ithaca College Recital Hall as a soloist. Between 2017 and 2019, she achieved the Artist’s Diploma at Vancouver Academy of Music, studying with Amanda Chan, and held two recitals at Koener Recital Hal.
Ms Wang offers piano lessons for different levels of students. She teaches university, RCM, and ABRSM students from Asia to North America. Some of her students have achieved wonderful outcomes, with inspired creativity and enthusiasm. Recently Ms Wang is part of the MSMVan faculty.
