Tiffany Tsai (BMus, MMus)

Tiffany Tsai is both an active teacher and a passionate musician. She began piano lessons at age five with Yamaha Music Education and clarinet at age of eleven with a private teacher. She attended the music-talent program with a major in clarinet and minor in piano in high school and had her first recital at age seventeen. To pursue her love of music, she completed her Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance at Michigan State University under Dr. Nathan Williams and Dr. Caroline Hartig and a minor in piano and received her Master of Music in Clarinet Performance at the University of Toronto where she studied with Joseph Orlowski of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. During her years in Toronto, she was involved with the University of Toronto Contemporary Music Ensemble, the CAST Philomusica Orchestra, and the Korean Canadian Symphony Orchestra. Along with solo and orchestral performances, she participated frequently with chamber groups. Her chamber group, the clarinet-violin-piano trio, has been coached by the St. Lawrence String Quartet; Violist, Mark Fewer; and Pianist, Greg Oh.

Ms Tsai loves teaching and would like to make a valuable contribution to young people who love music. She believes that teaching helps students develop their self-expression, their potential in musicianship, their self-confidence, and their overall appreciation of music. She works well with all levels of students. Ms Tsai is fluent in Mandarin and English and teaches clarinet.
