Singing Favorite Popular Songs

March 13-17, 2023, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon | Ages 7–12 | $350.00

This is an enjoyable camp where participants can sing their favorite popular songs and create movement for them. Some of the songs might include Roar (Katy Perry), Centuries (Fall Out Boy), Thunder (Imagine Dragons), High Hopes (Panic), Shake It Off (Taylor Swift/Reese Witherspoon), Dance Monkey (Tones and I), as well as songs from popular movies and musicals. Each day will begin with short warm-up vocal exercises and ear training through singing together in tune. This will be followed by learning two to three songs and choreographing movement to the lyrics. The week will end with a short presentation to parents.

March 20-24, 2023, 9:30 a.m.-12:00 noon | Ages 4–6 | $325.00

This camp is ideal for those looking to have an exposure to a variety of musical experiences in a fun-filled, friendly, and welcoming environment. The session is broken into three modules that include Orff and Kodaly, Recorder Class, and Introductory Piano Class.

Children in this class will experience a fun-filled, high-energy approach to early music education on the violin. Campers will learn the fundamental elements of violin playing using the Suzuki Method (a popular method of music instruction for children ages three and up that emphasizes ear training and encourages motivation and positive experiences). Some concepts covered during the week include basic posture, bow and violin holds, musical terminology, improvisation, expression, and five twinkle rhythms, as well as exposure to a variety of classic musical examples in a “music appreciation” format.

Required Instrument: A violin is required for participation. This can be rented for the week for $15 at the time of registration.

Pop Music Makers

March 13-17, 2023, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. | Ages 6–12 | $350.00
March 20-24, 2023, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. | Ages 6–12 | $350.00

This camp is designed to draw the musician out of everyone, with or without a musical background. The session is broken into short modules, including Guitar Class, Introduction to Percussion, Soundtrax, and Garage Band. Each module will focus on exposing children to new and exciting aspects of the music world.

Required Instrument: Guitars are required for participation in the program. These can be rented for an additional $15 at the time of registration.

This new kind of camp experience explores the combination of music and coding. Participants will learn about the intersection of these components by creating their own digital games. This interactive, interdisciplinary program is stimulating for creative and strategic minds and will be a blast.

Prerequisites: No previous music or coding experience is required. This camp is most suitable for those without previous music instruction or with less than one year of instruction.

Required Equipment: Bringing an iPad or laptop is required.
