中文Olga Lockwood, Director
Olga Lockwood is the owner and director of Mozart School of Music in Vancouver West. In 2010, just one year after opening her school, Olga was one of three finalists in British Columbia, in the "Growth Award" as selected by Small Business BC. She represented Vancouver. She is a gifted and experienced musician with an ARCT in piano performance, an ARCT in voice performance, and 15 years of teaching experience in both instruments. Besides having run a large and successful private studio in Winnipeg, she also taught at two private schools, Balmoral Hall School and St. John’s Ravenscourt School, where she was in great demand as a teacher. Many of her students have won competitions in Winnipeg and have been silver medalists in examinations for the Royal Conservatory of Music and Conservatory Canada. A member of the Manitoba Registered Music Teachers Association for eight years, she served on the provincial executive as treasurer for three years. In 2007, she was the recipient of the Voice Pedagogy Award from the NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) Foundation. In addition to her membership in NATS, she is also a member of the BCRMTA and a national examiner for Conservatory Canada. Olga is on the advisory board of the BC Piano Teachers Federation. She is also a mentor at the Women's Enterprise. Prior to her music career, Olga was a recognized physical therapist specializing in hand therapy at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, where she developed and managed the burns and hand therapy physiotherapy unit. Ms. Lockwood was also a sessional instructor at the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation at the University of Manitoba. Ms. Lockwood’s goal is to provide every student at the school with an ability to reach their highest musical potential, through personalized music education from diverse, highly trained teachers. |
