Jee Yeon Ryu (BMus, MMus, PhD)

Jee Yeon Ryu is the Assistant Director and on the Piano Faculty at the Mozart School of Music Vancouver. As a pianist, teacher, and arts-based educational researcher in Vancouver, she uses a variety of artistic genres in her teaching and researching practices, including poetry, piano performance, video, and creative writing to discover more about children’s unique ways of learning to play the piano. In supporting their interests, curiosities, and imagination for creative piano playing, Jee Yeon aspires to bring more meaningful, joyful ways of exploring music and piano playing with her students.

In her new role as the Assistant Director, Jee Yeon leads various projects and workshops for MSMVan. In working closely with students, parents, teachers, and the Director, she enjoys creating new, creative arts-based music programs to inspire, encourage, and share music learning experiences that place importance and value of arts education in young people’s lives.
