Harmony Level 9 and History Level 9 examinations can each be prepared in one semester where classes are two hours per week for each course (September to December for the mid-December examination, or January to May for the mid-May examination). Classes are also available from May to August if students wish to write examinations in August. These theory examinations are the requirements for Level 9 practical examinations.
Harmony and Counterpoint Level 10 examinations and History Level 10 examinations can also be prepared in one semester or over two semesters with examinations written in December and May. If August examinations are taken, classes begin mid-May and run to the beginning of August. Classes are two hours per week. These examinations are the requirements for Level 10 practical examinations.
Harmony and Counterpoint at each level can be replaced by Level 9, 10, or ARCT keyboard harmony.
Harmony ARCT, Analysis ARCT, and History ARCT examinations are set according to demand.
MSMVan highly recommends that only one examination is taken per semester for the best results. Depending on the class size, Harmony and Counterpoint or History examination preparation usually requires 26 hours of classes. Two hours of homework per week can be expected.
